A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Mass is a book that is beautifully written with twisty plot turns, snarky banter that made me laugh, pure awesomeness from the Fae (specifically in the Night Court), crazy, heart-pounding suspense and one of the best romance that is sexy, sweet and loving that I have read in a very, very long time.

Feyre, who when we left her at the end of ACOTAR, was this shell of a girl, unsure of her place in the world, who turns into the most beautiful Fae who is kind, loving, empathetic, yet fierce and loyal who pushes the boundaries of those around her. She has turned into the woman she wanted to be when she was a human, she is no longer 'the weak one', but rather the one to be feared, "cursebreaker".
We FINALLY get to meet Rhysand, like truly and deeply meet him. We learn that he is not this vicious, malicious Lord of the Night, rather a High Lord who will stop at nothing to save and protect his people, his family and those he loves.
Feyre runs away to the Night Court after Rhysand saves her on her wedding day to Tamlin. He claims his end of the deal, one week every month, to save her from marrying a man who has turned into her captor. When she was screaming for someone to save her, anyone to take her away from this wedding, from Tamlin. It was Rhysand who saved her, who let Feyre believe that he was doing it to be mean and show dominance over Tamlin. BOY was she WRONG.
"He thinks he'll be remembered as the villain in the story. But I forgot to tell him that the villain is usually the person who locks up the maiden and throws away the key. He was the one who let me out."
Going into this book I was very skeptical as I thoroughly disliked the first book. But this book, I couldn't put it down! It was captivating, jaw-dropping, and just utterly beautiful, from the characters we meet to the adventure they undertake, to Velaris. Velaris. Wow. I have no words for the beauty within the City of Starlight.
"To the people who look at the stars and wish... and to the stars who listen and the dreams that are answered."
I have to say, I was told to be prepared for the cabin scene... I WAS NOT PREPARED! Chapter 54 was beautiful, utterly smutty and beautiful. I couldn't have asked for anything more, although we got more! Rhysand is unashamed of his love and passion for Feyre, he isn't afraid to show that he loves her and that losing her will ultimately be the end of him. Although he is scared to lose her, he never... NEVER keeps her contained. Feyre makes her own choices about everything, including how she wants to contribute her efforts to the impending war.
"The things I love have a tendency to be taken from me."
I loved Feyre and Rhysand in this book, they are made for each other. Fated Mates. The end of the book was a lot to handle. There was so much happening. Tamlin and Lucien had hunted Feyre. Ianthe betrayed Feyre. Those backstabbing mortal queens. Feyre asks to break the bond, which thankfully was part of the plan for Feyre to become a spy in the Spring Court. It was a lot, in a good way, which intrigued me to start ACOWAR.
Overall, this book is an easy 4.5/5 for me. It was fast-paced, the action was incredible, and the characters were utterly amazing. I cannot wait to finish the series!
